New Approach on How to Promote Engineering
An article published in the April 4th edition of the Financial Times details a new effort in the United Kingdom to promote engineering. Run by the Engineering and Technology Board, the aim "is to 'get under people's radar' by positioning engineering as a lifestyle choice."
The program involves a three-part strategy. The first is to generate editorial coverage in highly distributed lifestyle magazines that cover a wide array of topics. The second is a new quarterly magazine for students called Technology Horizons. The third part is an "integrated internet strategy revolving around an online network, Scenta, created to promote science, engineering and technology."
